With Everyone in Need, Who Gets to Receive?

Posted on Nov 28, 2012

Having trouble deciding who to give to this holiday season? Here are some thoughts that might give you a new perspective.

As you begin your holiday shopping this year, you may notice a pattern resurfacing. In the line at the grocery store, you are asked to donate an extra dollar for the hungry, at the bookstore, an extra dollar for a desolate children’s library, and on every corner, a bell-ringing Santa Claus is asking for your spare change. During the holidays, it becomes even more apparent just how many people there are that need our help; but how do we decide who to give to?

This year, like every other, thousands of families dealing with pediatric cancer and blood disorders are trying to keep it normal. Lainie’s Angels is asking you to give whatever you can to help us provide comfort and compassion this holiday season to those whose worlds are consumed with illness and uncertainty. Lainie’s Angels is an organization that specifically aims to make times like these easier for the families of sick children by connecting them with experienced families and advocates of this nature.

You may have already received our annual letter, and if so, you know where Lainie’s Angels is headed in the New Year. So, when you’re thinking about whom to give to this holiday season, please consider making a donation to Lainie’s Angels, or visiting our online store where you can choose from ornaments, holiday cards, and more.

Wishing you all a warm and happy holiday season.
