Lainie's Angels Is Moving

Posted on Oct 23, 2013

That’s right. Lainie’s Angels is moving, in more ways than one.

We will be moving our administrative office to Grand Rapids, Michigan, during the weekend of November 2, 2013.

The relocation to the Midwest represents an opportunity to broaden the visibility and scope of Lainie’s Angels. A number of child cancer organizations and health care providers have reached out in the past few months, with interest in working with Lainie’s Angels to provide a continuum of care to improve the quality of life for families impacted by childhood cancer; in particular, resources and services designed to help children diagnosed with cancer achieve their full human potential as adults. Because of family and business ties located in and around Grand Rapids, this move will increase the organization’s capacity to take full advantage of partnering opportunities, which advances our mission and builds long-term sustainability.

I want to assure everyone that this move does not mean the end of our presence in the Northeast.  Lainie’s Angels is committed to maintaining the strong community relationships we’ve built over the last twelve years. As such, my daughter, Samantha Afendoulis, together with our marketing agency, BCS Interactive, of Madison, New Jersey, will support the foundation’s work in the New Jersey and New York areas.

I want to especially thank my friends, neighbors, and extended Greek family in New Jersey and New York who, from the start, contributed their time and money in memory of my eldest daughter, Lainie, and to help other families struggling to care for their children who have been diagnosed with cancer.  On behalf of those families, my deepest and sincerest appreciation for your many selfless acts of giving. I personally want to thank you in advance for your continued support as Lainie’s Angels seeks to inform, support, and empower all children with cancer and their families. Finally, I look forward to giving you further details of our future plans and current happenings once I am settled in Grand Rapids.

With love,

Stathi
