Provides current and reliable cancer-related information to patients, families and health care providers regarding treatment options, research, coping, nutrition, etc..Very comprehensive. Has links to numerous related resources and websites.
2. NATIONAL CANCER INSTITUTE www.nci.nih.gov
The federal government's main agency for cancer research, training and advocacy. The site is a thorough resource, and a good place to start your research. Has information on any type of cancer and its treatment, finding and understanding appropriate clinical trials, and contains links to support groups.
3. MEMORIAL SLOAN-KETTERING CANCER CENTER www.mskcc.org
From the Home page, go to "Pediatric Cancer Care." Here, you'll find information specific to a hospital and its health care providers. Also contains clear explanations of various pediatric cancers and treatments, practical information for families - including a guide to communicating with your health care team - and sections for kids and teens.
4. CAPTAIN CHEMO www.royalmarsden.org/captchemo
An interactive educational site created by a teenager with cancer in order to explain the disease, its treatment and its side effects to children and teens, using factual text, games and animated video.
5. NATIONAL CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION www.nccf.org
This foundation raises funds to support the Children's Oncology Group (COG), a major research network that strives to help all children with cancer gain access to the most comprehensive and current care. You can access lists of COG locations throughout North America, Australia and Europe on this site. There is also a section on specific childhood cancers, with a good explanation of clinical trials.
6. NATIONAL CHILDREN'S CANCER SOCIETY www.children-cancer.com
This non-profit organization provides emotional and medical support to children with cancer and their families. The site has links to several resources (listed categorically, and very extensive). Families can also download applications and guidelines for receiving financial assistance for expenses related to cancer treatment.
7. NATIONAL COALITION FOR CANCER SURVIVORSHIP www.cansearch.org
This patient-led advocacy organization provides information to empower patients and families about practical and political issues, such as research funding, access to care and clinical trials. The site describes the roles of government agencies and how public policy can affect treatment.
8. CANCER SOURCE FOR KIDS www.cancersourcekids.com
This site was developed by pediatric oncology nurses to help children, teens and parents learn about specific types of cancers, and to provide age-appropriate information on testing, diagnosis and treatment. An especially good site for siblings and young family members.
9. HOSPICE NET www.hospicenet.org
This comprehensive site details hospice services and provides a guide for deciding on a program. Also contains information for patients regarding pain control, as well as excellent resources for caregiver support and bereavement (specific to children and teenagers).
10. CANDLELIGHTERS www.candlelighters.org
A non-profit organization providing support, education and advocacy for families of children with cancer and the professionals caring for them. Links to Hopelink Clinical Trial service, which helps patients find clinical trials to meet their needs. Also contains links to other websites, with topics including assistance with medications, pain control, complementary therapies and support groups.

The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative works with various organizations, events, and institutions that help improve the quality of life for people dealing with sarcoma. Central to their mission is the goal of increasing public awareness of sarcoma, especially focusing on research initiatives and fundraising to support these efforts around the United States. Additionally, the Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative is responsible for publishing an online, bimonthly newsletter for patients, caregivers, doctors, nurses, and anyone else affected by sarcoma.
